Today June 2nd 2010, the lows and the highs of my day were that started with the low, that my wife left this morning to her visit her parents in Peru, the high was job hunting with my friend and meeting Bloomberg at some art exhibit conference today at city hall.
"you were so close to him why didn't you throw him a pie?" one friend said, another "he doesn't deserve a picture with you" and my sister "I would had punched him in the face" so why take a picture with probably the most hated man in New York City? well for starters I have a good album going on my facebook called "Starfuckers Inc" and I've been so lucky in meeting several celebrities these passing months, hated or not he is a known figure and also I did it for my parents which they haven't found any problems with the man except my dad gets pissed off when it affects his work, my dad is a limo town car driver so Bloomberg is a menace to them and taxi cab drivers.
I took a pic with Bloomberg and the reason was because of his celebrity not his politics, I am writing this piece is because in part I want to vent. Bloomberg was at city hall park for a conference based on exhibition that will run until December and what is it? Is a metal like sculptures that were made by artist of different cultures. I think it's neat but what about the artist in Union Square? Bloomberg wants to throw out the "overcrowding" artist in the park. I and like many people that walk through the park have no problem at all, actually there is a bit of peace and admiration to the art, the culture, and all round atmosphere of what Union Square is. Why not have a conference at Union Square? My observation today at City hall was that there is money and people with money creating "art" makes it more appealing than some artist with long hair, dirty clothes and art that is so crude like the painting of a nude lady with an octopus on her thigh.
So does Bloomberg have a tight grip of the pulse of what is art and what isn't? Nah! fuck the next painter that creates something so immaginitive, offensive, and crude and tell that painter to get a job, cut your hair become part of Bloomberg's aristocratic party and make art that is safe and appealing to something souless because then and only then you wont have to fear of ever being runned out of any place because bloomberg and his friends will appreciate you, throw some money and make a conference in city hall.
